    "Plays" is the study of the form of theatre that has through the centuries, come to include not only dramas, but comedies and musical works from Broadway shows to opera, for culture and entertainment.

    Some subfields in "Plays" include writing scripts for the stage, historical cataloging of theatrical works, stage management, and many others.

    Goals of "Plays" include better understand and appreciate the cultural enhancements that theatre and musical theatre bring to humanity both now and throughout history.

    A few scholars of "Plays" include prolific playwrights such as Shakespeare, the operatic Italian genius of Gluck, Verdi and Puccini, as well as modern stage productions such as "Phantom of the Opera" from Andrew Lloyd Weber and Nick Stafford, "The War Horse" and others.
