What is blockchain?

Blockchain is a cryptographic records keeping system. Blockchain is decentralized, distributed, and often public. Blockchain records can be easily verified and audited. Records in blockchain cannot be modified. Blockchain has many uses, including cryptocurrency, legal contracts, supply chain management, and voting.
